We recently purchased a DJI Drone for our upcoming travels. We are leaving our home in Moscow, ID to travel around the US and visit National Monuments and National Parks. We will taking off from Moscow, ID and going as far East as Chicago and Louisiana. We will be planted in Arizona/New Mexico/Mexico/California for the winter then make our way back up to the PNW in April/May of 2018.
While on the road we will be living out of our RV and documenting everything on our cameras. We though it would be neat to be able to capture all the beauty the US has to offer not only from the ground but from the sky. We have been taking our Drone out for some practice here in Idaho and here is some of what we captured:
We initially bought the New Mavic Drone from DJI we really were impressed by the size, since we plan to do lots of hiking it seemed perfect. It's very user friendly and the flight time is 24 mintues which is great as well. The only thing we weren't super happy with is the 12 mp camera. The video quality is 4k, and that was great. We are returning our Mavic and going to purchase the Phantom 4 Pro with a 20.4 mp camera. Depending on your budget and what you are wanting to do with your drone the Mavic or the Phantom are great options.
These images are SOOC (straight out of camera). I will post more images and video quality of the Mavic as well as the Phantom when it arrives.
Stay tuned for more from our upcoming adventure as well. We will be launching a blog just for our travels and our travel photography and I will post that site address soon.
